Over the years, we have noticed that there are certain questions which many people ask through the quoting process. Here are some of our frequently asked questions.
| Q: | I have just a few words to translate. Do you have a minimum charge? |
| A: | Yes. We have a minimum charge of $250 per language (about 1,000 words). |
| Q: | What kind of certifications do your translators have? |
| A: | The majority of our translators are certified by the American Translators Association. The translators actually have to pass (with high marks) various translation tests in order to be accepted. For those who live outside the United States, there are professional organizations for translators located around the world. |
| Q: | How long does it take to get a translation done? |
| A: | Of course, all of this depends on the language and complexity of the text being translated. Generally, translators can translate between 2,000 and 2,500 words per day once they become familiar with the terms and subject matter of the original. Should the translation need to be done on a rush basis, there is an extra charge depending on the time frame. |
| Q: | What payment methods do you accept? |
| A: | We accept payment by check (drawn on U.S. funds). We also accept MasterCard and VISA. Other options include money orders, cashier checks, and cash. |
| Q: | How do you handle non-alpha translations? For instance, Chinese and Japanese characters? |
| A: |
These can be handled one of three different ways. If you have a Chinese or Japanese operating system using Chinese or Japanese fonts, we could work together to make sure that you receive the proper files so that everything prints correctly. The translation can be saved as an Adobe Acrobat (PDF) file, which allows you to view, print, and e-mail the information. Or we can use Unicode fonts in Microsoft Word, which will view and print correctly from other Microsoft Word files as long as the Unicode fonts are installed. |
